The NBP Facebook Fan Page Drive to a MILLION – Become a fan & win prizes!

Well… 1 Million Facebook fans might be a very unrealistic goal for New Baby Productions, but we like to aim high.

As we near completion of THE CHRONIC ARGONAUTS graphic novel, and begin to plan for its release (hopefully next year), we would like to massively increase our fan base on the social networking web site Facebook. We strongly believe in this property’s potential and see it thriving in the sequential art medium, and even moving beyond the comics page into other areas of entertainment: prose novels, television, toys, movies, and more! By growing the NBP legion with more people that we can reach and prove that to, the more likely we are to make that happen.

To encourage you to follow us, I will be giving out some special prizes as we reach various milestones. Let’s start out small… 250 followers. When we reach that, I will randomly select three followers to each receive a copy of the promo comic book containing the first chapter of THE CHRONIC ARGONAUTS (pictures below). These are very limited, as only a handful were printed for pitching to agents, licensors, publishers, and producers. After reaching that milestone, I’ll name the winners and
announce the next milestone and prizes.

Remember, the goal is to reach 1 Million followers. We’ve got a long way to go. So please share with your friends and family and potentially win some prizes along the way!

“Save the Comics” Campaign

I received the following press release regarding the “Save the Comics” Campaign, and it is definitely worth forwarding on. It is a great cause and your support is appreciated.

Save the Comics

For Immediate Release:

SAVE THE COMICS CAMPAIGN
http://michaelnetzer.com/mnop/?cat=258

In light of recent developments in the comics creator community and talk of a grass roots movement to bolster creator owned properties outside of traditional comics venues, Michael Netzer calls for a new PR effort to compel DC and Marvel to adapt their business policy towards rescuing the comic book publishing business from the floundering state it’s been in for decades. The goal of the campaign is to take the case into the mainstream media in order to pressure DC and Marvel to reconsider their business strategies.

THE PETITION
http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/save_the_comics/

Only several days old, a number of prominent industry personalities have already signed on and support continues to grow as fandom and the creator community become aware of its existence. Come by and read the petition and sign on to help maintain the momentum. Every signature (even anonymous) is a strong show of support and helps immensely.

THE COMPLAINT
http://michaelnetzer.com/mnop/?p=2026

A complaint has been lodged with the Federal Trade Commission based on the petition. It’s expected that a growing support for the petition would cause the FTC to investigate its claims with more rigor.

THE BANNERS
http://michaelnetzer.com/mnop/?p=2054

Two banners are available for use on forums, blogs and web sites to promote the campaign and bring the petition to fandom’s attention.

THE PRESS COVERAGE
http://michaelnetzer.com/mnop/?p=2068

All press coverage, including forum discussions, blogs and comics news sites will be listed and linked at the campaign headquarters for reference.

WHAT THE SIGNATORIES ARE SAYING
http://michaelnetzer.com/mnop/?p=2113

Samplings from the comments by signatories on the petition.
We stand at a critical junction for the comics industry. We have the momentum and spirit to affect a change in how the business of comic book publishing is being conducted by DC and Marvel. Public pressure has always been the only deterrent for such irresponsible behavior by the powers that hold the keys to change.

Show your support by signing the petition and spreading the word.
